I was surprised to see that the AI actually plays more like a human player. PES on the otherhand has a much more sophisticated AI system. I think FIFA edges it, but PES is by no means a failure this year and i'll probably get both. This is what makes FIFA's offline play unplayable for me. let's not get started on the actual AI of the opposing team, which reads every button press and calculates to such precision where you are on the pitch that it almost seems like it's watching your fingers on the control pad, thus it can at almost every opportunity, avoid slide tackles by turning just at the moment you press the button, same with standing tackles.ĭon't get me wrong, i'm not bashing the TD system, i've practically got used to it and i support it's inclusion, but the AI are more or less cheating in a way (on the higher difficulties) and it's sometimes a chore getting the ball back off it because it reads and calculates every move you can make, which is ridiculous because no human would ever be able to make such reactions. They are useless at defending when you're selected to a different player, their runs are moronic and only run straight forward. The players are just as stupid as last year, and the new TD system has made them look more-so.
